Our NEW Christmas Tree
Yes I have checked my calendar. I know that it is only November 23. Yes I know Thanksgiving is in 2 days but I just couldnt help it. I had to put the tree up. It is not fully decorated so I am not sure if it even counts.
This year I decided to break down and buy a new artificial tree. Our previous tree was a hand-me-down tree pre-lit tree that we got from my Mother. It was a decent tree and did it's job every year, but this Christmas LOVER has been dreaming of a nice full tree. So I started my search of the perfect tree without breaking the bank. I was shocked when Hubby came up with a brilliant Cent's-ational idea of buying a NON pre-lit tree and just purchasing the lights seperately. "WOW, why didnt I think of that" hahah. I decided to look at Walmart.com to just get an idea on pricing. I didn't have to look any further. I saw one for 78.00. It was 7.5 FT. It had GREAT reviews. Well before ordering it online I of course had to see it for myself. The following day I took Mr. J to Walmart after PK and low and behold they had the tree on display. It was beautiful. Unfortunately they did not have any in stock. So back home I went to order it online and had it shipped to the store.
I finally got the tree last night.I bought a new Tree Topper and had previously purchased 2 boxes of colored lights for it. Brought it home after the kids were already asleep and said to Hubby, why dont we just open it up and put it up and at least have it out of the box so we don't have to deal with the kids asking us to open it up. So up it went. Thankfully we decided to put it up, cause we had to move furniture, cause the normal spot for our tree was just not gonna be big enough for this new one. We also discovered that the 2 boxes of lights I purchased was not gonna be enough for this tree. LOL. We also barely got the star on top cause our ceilings apparently aren't that tall. But even with all those small mishaps, I am IN LOVE with my new tree.
This morning I made a quick run to Kmart and picked up some more lights and some bows and beads for the tree. I got to put the new Disney Tree skirt that I made under the tree. This weekend we will officially decorate the tree with the kids. I can't wait. But for now this is how our tree looks.
